People seek evaluations for many different reasons!
Families often seek an evaluation when their child has missed developmental milestones, is having trouble at school, or there are frequent conflicts at home. It may have also been suggested that your child be evaluated for a specific diagnosis (e.g., Autism, ADHD, etc.) by your child’s pediatrician, school team, or another provider.
Young adults often seek an evaluation to see if they meet criteria for a specfic diagnosis, such as ADHD, or when they have been provided multiple diagnosis by different providers.
Regardless of age or referral reason, evaluations can be helpful to determine a diagnosis and access resources and supports. Determining when to seek an evaluation can be overwhelming! If you have questions please do not hesitate to reach out.
